Volunteer: Garden Volunteers at Pony Power Therapies!

Pony Power Therapies is looking to recruit volunteers to help with the set up and maintenance of a garden located on our newly acquired property. The garden will be used for educational lessons with our participants focusing on health and nutrition. Volunteer: Pony Power Therapies Now Recruiting Volunteers for Summer!

Volunteer: Bilingual Translator - English-Korean

The volunteer will be responsible for regularly checking voice messages left in Korean and relaying the information to the appropriate staff at the Volunteer Center.  Volunteer will also follow up with clients (phone or email) to ask further questions and collect any additional information, as needed.  Work can be done anywhere, as long as there is access to phone and email.  From time to time, volunteer will also work with staff to translate marketing material into Korean.  If interested, the position could be expanded to include additional outreach work to the Korean American community. 

Time commitment: it will vary, but max 2 hours / week with minimum of 5-10 minutes each day

Our organization has an immediate need for an experienced, graphic designer to create professional, quality flyers, signage and marketing pieces.

The right candidate must be able to:

Create modern, eye catching documents of professional quality with minimal instruction. Corporate design experience is a huge plus! DFI is looking for a volunteer who is comfortable working with WordPress to assist us with updates/edits "as needed" to our current format. This site is a great resource for us, as well as for patients and community members who need help and look to our site for resources.

Volunteer: Fundraising/Special Events Volunteer

Assist with 5-6 major annual fundraisers which generate funds for critical diabetes medications, children's camp scholarships, education, and patient support services. Duties include staffing events, assisting with event planning and post-event activities, obtaining donations and raffle items, and more. Volunteer: Patient Support Services

Seeking volunteers to assist with phone calls in our Patient Support Services Program. These individuals work to connect people living with diabetes that are uninsured or under-insured with long-term prescription assistance programs, medical facilities, and ongoing health and wellness resources. Helping patients who have utilized the Foundation short-term emergency medical assistance find long-term assistance is critical to ensuring that each patient will not experience a lapse in their diabetes treatment plan. The New Jersey residents that we serve have no resources for diabetes education, personal care plans, or financial information, and our Support Program is one of the only ways for them to learn how to manage their condition. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency a plus but not required. Experience speaking with patients or customers via phone, and/or familiarity with diabetes is a huge plus, but not required. Computer proficiency and typing skills are required.

Volunteer: Assistant Coordinator- Medication Assistance Program

Want to learn what is involved in providing critical diabetes medication to those in need? Volunteer with us and gain exposure while sharing your expertise! In this position, you will review and process assistance applications, serving as the main point of contact for medical professionals and patients, as well as for the pharmacy distribution site. Your important work will ensure that people with diabetes receive their much-needed medication and supplies quickly and will not have a lapse in their treatment. Medical office or nursing background a plus, but not required. Bilingual Spanish skills also a plus, but not required. Must be very comfortable performing data entry, using email, and creating documents on the computer, as well as corresponding with patients and professionals via telephone. This person will be working with personal information, and confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

The Bergen Volunteer Center is actively seeking experienced professionals for 4 – 6 hours a month to help launch an exciting new program: Redefining Retirement. The Mission: To be the go-to leader connecting retirees seeking engagement in their communities with nonprofits seeking volunteers, and to enable them, together, to turn caring into meaningful action. 

The Redefining Retirement Matchmaker will help to recruit and connect retired volunteers throughout Bergen County with nonprofits who need volunteers with specific skills to help them best serve their communities and achieve their goals. The Bergen Volunteer Center will provide training and materials to guide recruiting, interviewing, and training.

To advocate for the experience, skills, work ethics, and value seasoned workers bring to the volunteer “workforce” To work with the Volunteer Center to coordinate recruitment of age-friendly nonprofit agencies and retirees looking to volunteer in them To assess those nonprofits’ specific skills-based or general volunteer needs.
