Who We Are
Mission: To enrich the lives of people with aphasia, their families, and communities.
Adler Aphasia Center serves people with aphasia; a communication disorder that usually develops after a stroke. It affects an individual’s ability to speak, read, write and understand language , but intellect is not affected.
What We Do
Our center cannot operate without our many wonderful volunteers! Our staff and volunteers provide communication supports so those with aphasia can successfully share their thoughts and feelings. We are open Monday-Thursday at our Maywood Center and we have an ongoing need for volunteers from all walks of life. All of our volunteers bring their own special skills and talents to our groups and make AAC a happy place to volunteer!
