Mission: To inspire and empower people to care for nature throughout New Jersey and beyond.
New Jersey Audubon, founded in 1897, is the state’s first and largest conservation organization, dedicated to fostering environmental awareness and a conservation ethic among New Jersey’s citizens.
What We Do
- Conservation Efforts: Protecting New Jersey’s birds, mammals, other animals, and plants, especially endangered and threatened species, and promoting the preservation of valuable natural habitats.
- Environmental Education: Offering programs and resources to educate the public about New Jersey’s natural heritage, including field trips, lectures, and professional development for educators.
- Research Initiatives: Conducting research on New Jersey’s environment and wildlife, including monitoring raptor populations and identifying crucial habitats for migrating songbirds.
- Field Trips and Events: Organizing field trips and events to various sites of environmental importance throughout New Jersey and beyond, aimed at birders and nature enthusiasts.
