Who We Are
Mission: To enable individuals who have developmental and/or physical disabilities to have the opportunity to attain their highest level of skills, purpose and independence with dignity through an ongoing commitment to comprehensive quality services, advocacy and family partnership.
Spectrum for Living was founded in 1978 by parents in Bergen County, NJ, to ensure the long-term care of their adult children with developmental disabilities. The organization helps individuals live fulfilling lives by providing emotional and physical support. It opened its first facility in 1983 in Closter, NJ, and now operates 28 sites across three counties, serving over 800 people with group homes, supervised apartments, and training centers.
What We Do
Spectrum for Living achieves its mission by providing medically intensive care, barrier-free housing, and skill-building programs for individuals with disabilities. Services include adult training centers, recreational activities, respite care for families, and support services like case management.
