Description

Adler Aphasia Center is partnering with Ahavas Sholom – Jewish Museum of NJ and NJPAC to host a unique event, Getting the Words Out, in Newark, NJ on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. This event, with free parking, will include a panel discussion on signs of stroke, what you need to know about aphasia, the intersection of arts and wellness, and much more. The panel will include stroke survivors with aphasia, family members of those with aphasia, a speech therapist, and the senior director of Arts & Wellbeing for NJPAC. An art show displaying work by people with disabilities (including aphasia) will be exhibited at this event and will remain in place through February 2023. There will be a reception following the panel discussion. Thank you to the Healthcare Foundation of NJ for their generous support of outreach and education programs in the Greater Newark Area.
