- Customers are required to wear masks at all times and practice 6’ social distancing
- Requiring frequent hand washing
- Limiting public interface with curbside donation pickup and drop off

COVID-19 Opportunities - With Spectrum for Living
Spectrum for Living is a non-profit organization dedicated to the philosophy that persons with developmental disabilities have the same rights as others to a fulfilling and meaningful life. Our programs and services support dignity, independence and encourage each person to reach their personal potential.
During the coronavirus pandemic, their clients are isolated from family and loved ones and some are testing positive. Staff members are not only busy with the care they always provide during normal programming but have this added level of responsibility.
Each group home could use the donation of new craft kits, puzzles, board games, art supplies (coloring books, crayons, paper, markers). Group Homes are located in towns across Bergen, Passaic, and Middlesex Counties and provide group living with private rooms and a shared common area. Supervised Apartments serve residents who are most able to live independently.
If you have the ability to donate any of these items and you want to help out here's a terrific way to do it. To find out more, please contact Sylvia Kerslake, Assistant Director of Residential Living, at skerslake@spectrumforliving.org or 201-655-1561.

Making It Home - a program of the Bergen Volunteer Center
The Making-It-Home Program delivers donated furniture to individuals, veterans and disable people moving from emergency shelter to new apartments. We need volunteers able to carry furniture as well as those with trucks so that we can transport the furniture from donors to our storage unit and from the storage unit to clients' new homes.
This program keeps gently-used furniture from going to the landfill and helps a vulnerable population get a fresh start by providing furniture on which sit, eat and relax.
