Volunteer: Male Mentors (Long term: 18 month)Bergen Volunteers’ Mentoring program provides individuals with one-on-one support. Our staff and volunteers help mentees learn about the resources available within the community while tapping into their strengths to identify and strive towards specific personal improvement goals. Our long-term mentoring program runs for 18 months and matches volunteers with: Youth 10-21Volunteers enrolled in our long-term program must be at least 21 years old, complete an interview and criminal background check ($17), as well as attend our training session. Ideal candidates are great listeners, non-judgmental, resourceful, and have a generous heart. During the 18 month commitment period, volunteers are expected to meet with their mentees twice per month for 2 hours each get-together. We’re looking for male volunteers with a youthful, energetic spirit to mentor boys ages 10–21 and help them reach their full potential.
