Volunteer: Bilingual Case Manager Assistants

Women's Rights is looking for volunteers. Volunteers are needed 8 hours a week, could be divided over multiple days WRIC will do a background check, volunteers will be given 40 hours of domestic violence advocacy training Responsibilities include assisting in various cases that come into the supportive services team: domestic violence, housing, career issues, etc. Tasks include returning phone calls, filing, and conducting assessments over the phone.

Volunteer: The Closet - Spanish Speaking Volunteer

The closet is currently open 2 mornings a week. Monday and Tuesday. We are hoping we can get a volunteer, once trained, to open a third day, preferably Thursdays. The closet is located at the Methodist church 2 blocks from the Center in Englewood.

 

The closet is set up as an opportunity for the women who access services, to “shop” for season appropriate clothing including, outerwear, shoes, purses, and belts. All items available at the Closet are donated.

 

The volunteers support the shopping experience by asking what the individual is shopping for and directing them to sizes and styles. Offering an opportunity to try things on and provide positive uplifting feedback on what they have chosen.

 

Items are then “Bagged” before the women leave with their choices.

 

In essence the volunteers provide a shopping experience the same as if they were actually shopping at a, (high end) retailer.


If you speak Spanish that is a plus! But not required.

The Women’s Rights Information Center is seeking detail-oriented, hands-on volunteers to support a short-term but impactful organization project. Volunteers will help transform and streamline our storage areas to better serve the individuals and families who rely on our resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Sort, categorize, and organize donated items including clothing, toys, and personal care products Arrange and optimize storage spaces for accessibility and efficiency Assist in creating logical systems for inventory management (labeling, grouping, etc.) Identify items for redistribution, donation, or disposal as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and functional workspace throughout the project

Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to lift, move, and sort boxes/items (light to moderate physical activity) Comfortable working in storage environments Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team Immediate availability and flexibility to commit across several consecutive days
