About Us

Parents For Children Best Interests (PFCBI) is a nonprofit organization advocating for family preservation, justice reform, and children’s well-being. We support parents who have been unlawfully separated from their children or experienced violations of their parental rights. Our mission is to provide education, advocacy, and emotional support to promote healing and systemic change.


Volunteer Role: Mental Health Professional – Support Group Facilitator

We are seeking a compassionate and trauma-informed mental health professional (psychologist, counselor, social worker, or therapist) to facilitate peer support groups for parents navigating the devastating emotional effects of child loss through unlawful separation or court injustice.


Responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly or biweekly virtual support group sessions (60–90 minutes).

  • Provide a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental space for parents to share and heal.

  • Offer emotional regulation techniques, coping tools, and peer connection activities.

  • Collaborate with PFCBI’s leadership team to enhance group structure and resources.

  • Provide input for developing trauma recovery programs and parent education workshops.


Qualifications

  • Licensed or master’s-level experience in mental health, counseling, or social work (or strong background in trauma-informed care).(WILL ACCEPT STUDENTS UNDER THE SUPERVISION) 

  • Experience working with trauma, grief, family systems, or parental alienation preferred.

  • Empathetic communication and commitment to ethical and compassionate care.

  • Comfortable facilitating online sessions via Zoom or similar platforms.
