Children’s Aid and Family Services is one of northern New Jersey’s leading nonprofit providers of services that protect and support vulnerable children, adults and families. Our mission is to empower individuals, strengthen families, and support healthier communities. We envision a community where every individual is safe, strong, and thriving and can reach their innate potential. We provide services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, children and families, and offer alcohol and drug prevention education and recovery support.
At Children’s Aid and Family Services, we believe that volunteers are the backbone of our agency. As an organization founded by volunteers in 1899, we embrace the philosophy that it takes a village to help improve the lives of vulnerable children, young adults, and families in our community. Whether you are an individual or part of a group of committed citizens, we would love to work with you! Some ways to help:
Host a community drive with your friends, school or scout troop.
- Baby Basics Supply Drive – Collect diapers and wipes to help keep babies happy, healthy and dry.
- Back-to-School Drive – Gather backpacks, notebooks and other supplies to get our individuals ready for a great school year.
- Toiletry Drives – Help provide the necessities we often take for granted, like soap, shampoo and toothpaste to the most vulnerable in our community.
- Duffle Bags/Luggage – Provide our children in therapeutic foster care and our young adults “aging out” of foster care with a way to carry their belongings as they move forward on their journey.
