Who We Are

Mission: To help alleviate food insecurity by providing supplies and resources.

The Varick Memorial Food Pantry was established in March 2019 as a resource providing food to those who face food insecurity. The Pantry is a registered agency with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which consistently provides perishable and non-perishable food and Diapers, distributed twice a month. In May of 2022, the Varick Memorial Food Pantry was recognized at their annual Blue Jean Ball for services above and beyond for the willingness to deliver much-needed food to those who were in need while quarantined or without transportation. The Pantry is also registered with the Bergen County Food Security Task Force, which recognized the Pantry in October during World Hunger Month.

Even though businesses have reopened due to the rising prices at the grocery store and the influx of individuals and families from various countries, the pantry has experienced an increase in clients being referred by the Social Security Administration, the Bergen County Human Services Department, and various sponsoring families.

What We Do

Varick Memorial Food Pantry is dedicated to providing packaged food and other personal items to those who are in need of assistance. We are a non-profit agency that relies on the assistance of volunteers within the community to fulfill our goal.
