The Community Chest

Mission: To lead initiatives and support nonprofits that make our communities stronger and benefit people in need in eastern Bergen County.

The Community Chest was founded to provide grants to agencies that serve those facing the greatest hardships in our community.  Awards help fund agency operations or direct services to clients. The largest source of our grants to local nonprofits is through donations made to our Annual Campaign.

Our leadership workshops help participating agencies improve the quality of services they provide. Each year we bring together groups of people who are local professionals, community leaders and residents to share information and formulate solutions for community needs. The Community Chest works with agencies and nonprofits that provide services in each of these areas to move toward the goal of all residents having equal access to quality healthcare, educational opportunities, nutritious food and other services that add to a quality life.
