Who We Are
Mission: To provide comprehensive clinical treatment, vocational training, and work opportunities to individuals with varying abilities and developmental needs, helping them achieve meaningful and productive lives
Established in 1964 as a storefront operation staffed by dedicated volunteers, North Jersey Friendship House has grown into a multifaceted organization headquartered in Hackensack, New Jersey. We serve over 400 individuals annually across various locations totaling more than 45,000 square feet of programming space, staffed by over 100 professionals.
Our programs strive to help members enhance their emotional growth and develop the skills necessary to function comfortably and productively in the community. Over the years, we have expanded business enterprises in product packaging & assembly, food services, graphics, and building management & janitorial services.
What We Do
North Jersey Friendship House offers diverse vocational rehabilitation and partial care programs, including clinical counseling, career counseling, work readiness, and job search training.
Pre‐vocational training is offered in building maintenance, food services, graphic design and production, and fulfillment services. When individuals are ready to work in the community, we have a full-time staff of professionals who can transition them to employment opportunities with supported employment services.
The North Jersey Friendship House Day Habilitation and Community Services program fills a vital need to provide our core programs to those no longer served by school districts and seek to live productive lives in the community.
