Vantage Health System, Inc, (VHS) is a 501 (c) (3) New Jersey corporation that began as a Child Guidance Center in 1957. In 1972 we became the first free standing federally funded community mental health center in Bergen County serving the Northern Valley and expanded in 1984 when asked by the State to take over the failing Community Mental Health Organization in Englewood. We serve individuals from all over Bergen County. Vantage is under contract with the Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Division of Senior Services. All of Vantage’s programs and sites are licensed by the State of New Jersey and we have proven our ability to deliver quality services to various disabled and minority populations. We have grown from a $10,000 organization in 1957 with a part time therapist to one with 130 staff in 10 locations and a $10M budget.

Vantage Health System serves over 3,000 individuals a year residing throughout Bergen County. Our philosophy of treatment is based on wellness and recovery. In our two outpatient sites, Dumont and Englewood, we offer psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring, individual and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults with mental health and addiction challenges. We operate two specialized day treatment programs, one for adults with a serious mental illness and one for adults with both a developmental disability and a mental illness. We also operate a medical adult day care for the frail elderly and develop affordable housing for special needs populations. We own and operate four (4) group homes and thirteen (13) supportive housing residences.
