This is a great event for school groups, families, and individuals. Groups and/or individuals come with sponsored 2'x4's (wood studs) that they have their members/students decorate ahead of time with words, encouraging and inspirational messages, etc. At the museum, these teams will actually build framed walls with all the donated 2'x4's. These newly constructed walls will be used in an upcoming Habitat home. ANY age can participate in the actual building and framing - this is what makes it such a great youth group event as there are no age restrictions! There will be refreshments, kids’ activities, and more as well as the museum exhibits available for viewing.
2’x4’ sponsorship is $250/board. There are so many ways students can fundraise for the event – online fundraising sites (we use CROWDRISE.COM and can help you set that up if you would like), sponsorships, signing of the 2’x4’ for a donation, etc. I’d be happy to help brainstorm of ways to help your group(s) raise the money. It really isn’t hard to do!
