Englewood Housing Authority requests volunteers to sign up to assist with distribution of meals at two hotels to which residents of the low-income senior building in Englewood were evacuated after Hurricane Ida.
Days needed: Monday through Friday (5 days per week)
Dates: Monday, November 8 through Friday, December 31.
Time: 12:00-1:30 PM
Process:
All activity will take place in the lobby of each hotel. The volunteer (a single person or a couple) will accept meals delivered to the hotels from Community Baptist Church between 12:00-12:30 PM. The volunteer will place the meals on a bellman's cart and wheel them into the hotel lobby. Evacuees will come to pick up the meals between 12:30-1:30 PM. Volunteer will give each evacuee one meal (or more if they are picking up for another resident) and check the name off on a list to be emailed to the volunteer in advance. If any meals are left-over at 1:30, the volunteer will offer them to the hotel staff at the front desk. If any meals are still left, the volunteer will take the meals with him/her.
Do not leave any extra meals at the hotel.
