Dementia-Friendly Movie Matinee Volunteers
North Jersey Villages is sponsoring a series of afternoon theater events for people experiencing dementia and their caregivers. The upcoming events are scheduled at 12:30 PM on Wednesdays, September 10 and October 8 at the Hawthorne Theater and November 12 at the Westwood Theater.
We are looking for 5 to 6 volunteers to work with us for 4 hours to assist our guests with snacks, seating, and information when they arrive at the theater. To support a positive volunteer experience, all volunteers are expected to attend a half-hour training on Zoom before day of event as well as a brief training and a tour of the library auditorium one half hour prior to the event.
12:00-4:00 would be the volunteer hours on day of event (with 12:00-12:30 orientation and set-up; 12:30 guests arriving; and 1:00 film starting). For more information, contact Jeanne Martin at 201-245-2454 or jeanem07@yahoo.com.
