Do you value safety? Do you encourage socialization? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people who want to remain independent? Volunteer today with our CHEER program and build a lasting relationship with a senior citizen in need.
What will you do? Visit a local senior citizen weekly and do their grocery shopping and other minor errands such as pharmacy pick-up, post office, library book return/pick-up, etc. or just be a friendly visitor.
Hours: 2 hours a week/on-going
Requirements:
- Must have own mode of transportation and a valid driver's license
- Complete a criminal background check
- Attend a short one hour training session
- Attend at least 1 out of 3 Successful Aging Roundtable meetings a year (in-person)
We have volunteers of all ages including parent/child teams.
