Applications for the fall semester open in August.
For students age 16 and older.
If you are at least 16 years old, you are eligible to apply for the high school volunteer program.
High school volunteers support various non-clinical areas within the medical center. Examples of responsibilities may include:
- escorting patients
- delivering flowers
- running errands
- assisting with special projects
IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
- This is a selective program with limited capacity.
- Applications may close early once capacity is reached.
- Do not complete or submit any medical requirements unless you have received an official acceptance email.
- Only applications submitted through the online system will be considered. Paper applications are not accepted.
Time Commitment and Hours
It is preferred that volunteers maintain a regular schedule. All high school volunteers (16 or older) are required to commit to the following work schedule:
School Year: A weekly commitment of 2 hours is expected. Assignments are available:
- Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Please note that Saturday volunteer opportunities are limited and are prioritized for returning volunteers based on a seniority system. Due to high demand and limited availability, new applicants should expect weekday shifts based on program capacity.
