Activity Volunteers play an important role in creating fun, engaging, and meaningful experiences for program participants. Volunteers lead or assist with interactive activities that encourage socialization, creativity, learning, and overall well-being. No special expertise is required—just enthusiasm, patience, and a willingness to engage with others.
Examples of activities include:
- Arts and crafts projects
- Science experiments and STEM activities
- Creative writing or journaling
- Book clubs and story discussions
- Chair yoga or gentle movement
- Career Day presentations
- Music, singing, or dancing
- Games such as Bingo, trivia, puzzles, or card games
- Holiday or seasonal celebrations
- Cooking demonstrations, gardening, or other hobby-based activities
The organization welcomes new ideas and encourages volunteers to share their own interests, talents, or hobbies. Whether you enjoy photography, painting, music, travel, history, fitness, or another passion, staff are happy to work with you to develop an activity that participants will enjoy.
Activities typically serve 15–25 participants, providing an engaging group experience while allowing volunteers to interact with individuals throughout the session.
Volunteer scheduling is highly flexible. Individuals may volunteer weekly, monthly, or on another schedule that works for them. Volunteers are welcome to participate independently or bring a friend to co-lead an activity. A staff member is always present during each session to provide support, assist with participants, and ensure the activity runs smoothly
